Monday is trash day

Took the trash out got my ski boot refitted and waited for news on Ryans fever. My throat is still very sore. Doesn't feel like a "normal cold". Maybe I should see the Doc. Bad news from Ryan the fever is still there.

Sick or not

Well I'm definitely sick with what I think is a cold. My throat is sore as heck and I have a strange white blotch on the top of my tongue. Bummer! Nevertheless I went skiing today at Northstar after taking yesterday off. To avoid the crowds I went straight to Lookout Mt and just stayed there until about 1pm when I took Back Door to the backside chair which I rode to the top and then skied back to my locker at Ski School. Had fun as the snow was still good 2 days after Fridays snowfall. Skied the Lookout trees in the Glades which was probably not a very safe thing to do by myself. Back held up well.

On a more serious note I talked to Ryan today to learn that he is in the hospital with a fever of unknown origin. Possibly a virus infection or the flu. Will call him tomorrow AM.

Below is a picture of me at the top of Lookout Mt looking across Martis Valley, taken at approximately the same place as the photo Wallace took last week. This time I'm the man in black. I'm still wearing the Elvis glasses.

Saturday a day of rest

Not working today originally because my back hurt but now I have an additional excuse I'm coming down with a cold. Robert, Lindsey and Scott are supposed to come skiing today but may cancel since I informed them about my cold. Oh darn!
Went to see Dr Dodd yesterday about my back. He didn't seem too concerned (not his back) but strongly suggested that I stay on an exercise and stretching program year around.

Well today was a powder day at Northstar. Got about a foot of new snow on the mountain. I skied today hurt back and all and my new skis worked great.

I also figured out how to upload photo images to Blogger. Here is a picture of me in the powder.

Birth of a Blogger

My name is Andy Bavetta. Today I started my own Blog. Seems pretty easy although I could not figure out how to get photos uploaded. I'm working on a Mac and the suggested software apparently only works on a PC.

Rained off and on all day today. Snow level 7000 feet. Expect a few inches of snow in the morning. Teaching tomorrow at Northstar. I'm eager to try out my new Powder Skis (Dynastar Legend 8800's) with Diamir "Freeride" randonee bindings made by Fritschi.
