Day 9 Blowing Concrete

Day 9 of the construction of my garage addition. Blowing concrete into the wall forms. Day 8 was spent waiting for the building inspector.

Day 7 Forms Completed

The forms were completed today. The plan is to have them inspected by the county tomorrow and pour concrete on Friday. So far except for yesterday's rainout construction is going as anticipated.

Ride Around Lake Tahoe

Rode around Lake Tahoe today with Wallace, Jason, Paula, Craig and Patrick. Long ride with a lot of traffic in the section from South Shore to Tahoe City. It is about 71 miles with around 2800 ft of climbing. Smoke was not too bad though and it was not very hot which was all good. The section from Sand Harbor to Highway 50 was much improved with the new pavement. Ride time not including stops was about 5 hours.

Donner Lake Paddle

Bonnie & I paddled Donner Lake this morning from end to end starting at West End. She in her 11 ft Perception Dancer river kayak and me in my 17 ft Perception Chinook sea kayak. It's about 6 miles round trip and it took about two hours.

Riding the Donner Pass Train Tunnels with Robert

Robert and I rode the Donner Pass train tunnels yesterday. We made the loop starting at the west end of Donner Lake and then riding up Old US 40 through the tunnels and then down the hill to the West End of Donner Lake.

Greenville Bike Ride - 14 June 2009

Naomi and I rode the Indian Valley Century awhile back and liked it so much we decided to organize our own version of it with some good friends and family members. Well as it urned out everybody except Naomi and I backed out of the ride so we rode it again this time a shorter 36 mile version since we got a late 1PM start. Anyway the weather although somewhat threatening turned out great and we enjoyed the ride. Here are the pictures from the ride.

I rented a place tp store my Sea Kayak from TDRPD at the West End of Donner Lake for the summer. Mine is the red boat on the bottom right of rack "A". My plan is to get some upper body exercise paddling the lake.
