Took my snowblower into Truckee Rents to be serviced this morning. Mike said it would be at least 5 weeks before they can get to it since since, as you can see, they already have quite a few snowblowers waiting for service.

Hi Andy,
I am a flatlander with a house in tahoedonner. Unfortunately I put three decks on it totaling about 1000 sq feet :( Been shoveling them for ten years but now my heart in not as good.
Can you recommend a snowblower to buy for redwood decks. I need to motor it through the house to get to two one of the decks, and even up some outdoor stairs. Also who sells them locally ?

Hi Jim
Your a week late just sold my small (6HP) Honda deck Snow blower for $600 so I'm back to shoveling. I too had the drive through house problem which eventually proved not to be worth the effort so I left it on one deck and shoveled the other one. Then I ended up shoveling both decks so I sold the blower. Shoveling is rather easy if you keep up with the snow as it's falling which I can do since I live here. Anyway as you live down the hill your apt to come up with 2 or 3 feet of snow on your deck. To handle that you will need at least a 9 HP model. Buy it new at Truckee Rents or used on Craigs list Reno. If you have more questions email me at bavetta@pacbell.net
